"Mr President, my group would first like to join with you in expressing its deep regret at the recent loss of human life in Gaza which is still continuing at this time; it believes, along with the representatives of the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance and the Confederal Group of the European United Left – Nordic Green Left, that this is a matter on which Parliament has to adopt a position, and it should do this during the debate scheduled for next Wednesday, by telling the High Representative verbally what the position of this House is.
We would also support the tabling of a formal resolution setting out the position of each group as expressed in a vote. However, in view of the speed at which events in the area are taking place, we would like to have time to consider this resolution properly and would prefer it to be voted on at the plenary sitting in December.
To sum up, we would like to debate this issue thoroughly next Wednesday with the High Representative and to put off until December the voting on the resolution."@en1
