"Mr President, I am not sure if this is related to the agenda, but I do not know where else to raise it. This House has the habit of expressing its solidarity and paying respect to victims of human rights violations. A couple of weeks ago in an EU Member State, a woman died unnecessarily of pregnancy-related complications. She was denied – on religious grounds – an abortion that could have saved her.
I think that this is a violation of human rights. It is the right to life that was denied to that woman, and I think that it would be appropriate for this Parliament to pay its respects to the family of the victim."@en1
