lpv:translated text	"As regards the negotiation of an agreement that has been in place for many years and is deemed favourable, when it came to voting on the draft decision we had to consider the points with significant amendments. An analysis of the functioning of the agreement between the European Union and the US since 2000 allowed those parts that were not working well to be identified and replaced with appropriate provisions. Indeed, the only issue of concern to me was the decision to do away with the principle of mutual recognition. However, the information provided, namely that the operation of two separate registration systems (EU and US) will not have negative consequences, and will actually simplify registration and reduce costs for manufacturers, has convinced me to support the draft decision."@en1
