lpv:translated text	". I voted in favour of the conclusion of this Agreement, which will promote the energy efficiency of office equipment. Energy Star is a programme established by the US Environmental Protection Agency to improve the energy efficiency of office equipment. In 2000 the EU and the US signed an Agreement on the coordination of energy-efficiency labelling programmes for office equipment. The Agreement, which was renewed in 2006 for a second five-year period, provides for the setting up of the Energy Star programme in the EU, which will help to ensure closer cooperation between the EU and the US in the development of product specifications. This Agreement is therefore aimed at extending the Energy Star programme for an additional period of five years. I believe that in the next five years there must be negotiations with the US so that the principle of mutual recognition as regards products’ energy efficiency is applied in future."@en1
