lpv:translated text	". During the plenary I supported the report by Ms Bastos, which was adopted by a large majority. I applaud this. As we celebrate 20 years of the single market, the Bastos report has helped to highlight the numerous failings of the internal market. Specifically, it reminds us of the need to remove obstacles to the smooth functioning of the internal market, such as the lack of information for consumers and businesses, difficulties with the application of legislation, and the problem with the legislative vacuum. Nevertheless, despite these continuing shortcomings, the Bastos report commends the Commission’s proactive attitude in numerous areas, particularly the recognition of professional qualifications, the reform of public procurement contracts, and even the development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for consumers."@en1
