". Certain points of the Convention still need to be reassessed and improved, either during its implementation, or when it is reviewed in future. However, the amendments made to the previous Food Aid Convention (FAC 1999) represent real progress and the conclusion of FAC 2012 must be applauded, as must the work done by Mr Deva on his report. To recap, hunger and food insecurity remain global challenges today. While substantial progress has been made on a number of fronts in the past decade, progress on hunger and malnutrition have remained stubbornly slow. In 2010 an estimated 925 million people or 13.6 % of the world population did not have enough to eat, despite decreases in income poverty in several regions. 98 % of the world’s undernourished live in developing countries. 60 % of them are women."@en1
