"I voted in favour of the additional Protocol to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and Israel on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA). It provides for a procedure to recognise equivalence between the two parties in the technical regulation, standardisation and assessment of the industrial products concerned, as well as a mechanism for the mutual acceptance of industrial products. In no way does it constitute a political judgement for or against legitimisation of the Israeli settlements or the Occupied Territories, which remain a matter for international diplomacy."@en1
