"The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) was created in order to provide additional assistance to workers being laid off as a consequence of major structural changes in world trade patterns. On 13 September 2012, the Commission adopted a new proposal for a Decision on the mobilisation of the EGF in favour of Denmark in order to support the reintegration in the labour market of workers made redundant due to the global financial and economic crisis. Considering that the Danish authorities argue that the wind turbine manufacturing industry in the EU, which is included in NACE Revision 2 Division 28 (‘Manufacture of machinery and equipment’), has been seriously affected by changes in world trade patterns, in particular a significant reduction of the EU market share, and underlining the importance of ensuring a rapid procedure for the adoption of Decisions on the mobilisation of the fund, I voted in favour of the proposal."@en1
