lpv:translated text	". The financial and economic crisis had a substantial impact on the automobile industry and its labour market across Europe. The European car sales market suffered a significant decline that led to redundancies and social concerns. To manage the impact of the 2 089 redundancies at PSA Peugeot Citroën, concrete measures for job search assistance, training, and professional retraining and requalification are necessary. In this sense, I support measures to improve the employability of vulnerable groups, and recognition of skills and competences gained throughout one’s professional career. I voted in favour of this report because the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund plays a crucial role in the economic recovery of the regions affected by mass redundancies, including in the newer Member States. I wish to welcome the proposal of the European Commission to allocate EUR 2.9 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to Romania to assist with the impact of the Nokia redundancies."@en1
