"I voted in favour of this report, which provides for the mobilisation of the EGF in a total amount of EUR 2 898 594 for the Netherlands, which is intended to support 616 redundancies in the rolling sector serving the automotive industry. However, I regret that the Netherlands, as an EU Member State, has opposed the extension of the ‘crisis exemption’ for the current EGF, which has allowed financial assistance to be provided to workers made redundant as a result of the current economic and financial crisis and not just to those who have lost their jobs due to structural changes in world trade patterns, thus compromising the future of the EGF after 2013."@en1
