".
I voted in favour of this report as I believe that the support of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) at present is very welcome. The global economic and financial crisis has seriously affected Ireland in recent years and the loss of 592 jobs is of great significance to the Irish economy.
The loss in revenues owing to the Irish redundancies is also expected to generate significant losses in indirect employment through the loss in workers' disposable incomes and through a reduction in Talk Talk's purchases of Irish goods and services locally and regionally. I believe that the mobilisation of the EGF is very important in this situation in order to help revitalise the local economy."@en1
