"Our airspace needs to be made more efficient through the application of the most recent air traffic management technology in order to avoid a situation in which consumers pay twice: with their time and their money. Increased levels of air traffic mean increased operational risks and we therefore need to act swiftly. The Single European Sky involves a number of measures in the civil and military aviation sectors covering regulation, the economy, safety, the environment, technology and the institutions. I voted in favour of changing the organisation of air traffic management, which has remained unaltered for decades, in the hope of meeting the future needs of aviation safety."@en1
