"I voted for the report on the European Year of Citizens (2013). Today, almost 12 million European citizens live in another country than their own, yet there are still many obstacles to mobility within our Union. I thus voted for the various financing strands proposed by the report, such as the development of communication tools for information campaigns for the general public. Although it is up to the Member States to inform their citizens, it is essential that we establish multilateral information campaigns. We must help EU citizens to exercise and defend their rights more successfully, at local, regional, national and European level."@en1
