"The Atlantic strategy should take the form of a macro-regional strategy that promotes synergies among the various instruments and levels of action involved in spatial planning policies and that allows the actors on the ground to be involved in defining and implementing the strategy’s objectives. Accordingly, the strategy should be built around two themes: maritime and terrestrial spatial planning and promotion of the land/sea interface; stimulation of the economic fabric of the Atlantic regions through an industrial policy adapted to their specific characteristics. The strategy should strive to make better use of existing European funding, without creating any new budgetary instruments, aiming to improve existing policies in all sectors. I therefore voted for this report."@en1
