Alongside the proposal to amend the agreement on mutual recognition (MRA) with Australia, there has been a proposal to change the MRA with New Zealand, which entered into force on 1 January 1999. Considering that MRAs are agreements on mutual recognition in relation to conformity assessment of regulated products, giving each party the authority to test and certify products against the regulatory requirements of the other party, in its own territory and prior to export, and hoping for greater flexibility in the structure of sectoral annexes, removing unnecessary restrictions on trade between the parties, and reducing the administrative burden related to the management of the agreement, I express my vote in favour of the proposal."@en1
