"I voted for the motion for a resolution on the Commission Work Programme for 2013, through which we call on the Commission to adopt measures aimed at simplifying EU programmes, especially in the areas of research and innovation, and to monitor closely the use of financial engineering instruments. We also call on the Commission to submit a detailed action plan featuring measures promoting a fully integrated, interconnected single market in the energy sector, and to devise a strategy for tackling the impact of rising energy prices on the most vulnerable members of society.
We support the need to modernise Europe’s multimodal transport network, which is key to the internal market’s success.
We voted for the paragraphs where we emphasise the importance of getting young people into employment and the need to increase the EU’s ability to encourage education and training. We are also awaiting specific measures for reducing poverty and reforming the labour market.
We call for a sound cohesion policy to be applied at EU level after 2013 to ensure the integration of current funds and programmes, to provide sufficient resources, to be based on multi-level governance and to be properly aligned with the EU 2020 strategy objectives."@en1
