lpv:translated text	"The Council directive on a common system of taxation applicable to interest and royalty payments made between associated companies of the different Member States has been amended several times in recent years. However, there are still some technical refinements to make for the sake of clarity and accountability. According to recent estimates, European Union governments are losing a significant amount of uncollected revenues due to tax evasion and tax avoidance. The loss of revenues raises the deficit and debt levels of the different Member States. Cooperation between the tax systems of the different Member States is increasingly desirable. We must amend the directive in order to further rule out the possibility of unintended non-taxation, double taxation or tax avoidance fraud in the Member States disrupting the proper operation of the internal market."@en1
