lpv:translated text	"In 2012, the European Union has committed to complete the establishment of a common European asylum system (CEAS), underpinned by three pillars: harmonisation of standards of protection, by further aligning the Member States’ asylum legislation; effective and well-supported practical cooperation; as well as increased solidarity and a sense of responsibility, not only among EU Member States, but also between the EU and non-EU countries. Considering that harmonisation of standards of protection is under way through the modification of Member States’ legislation and practical cooperation is to be enhanced through the European Asylum Support Office (EASO), it is now important to tackle head on the third pillar of the CEAS by giving substance to the notion of solidarity and responsibility sharing, enshrined in Article 80 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and that is why I voted in favour."@en1
