lpv:translated text	"This vote looks to amend the Protocol on the Statute of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Firstly, it proposes establishing the office of Vice-President of the Court of Justice of the European Union. This measure is needed because its President’s workload has increased considerably with time and it would therefore be useful if he could, in future, be replaced or assisted by a Vice-President in carrying out his duties. In addition, for some years now, the gap between the cases processed by the General Court and the number of new cases has been widening and the number of unprocessed cases is rising constantly. At the end of 2010, there were 1 300 cases pending, whereas, in the same year, 527 cases were disposed of. The average duration of proceedings rose from 20.9 to 27.2 months. This is why we need to take on 12 new judges."@en1
