lpv:translated text	"Mr President, this debate in Parliament is the culmination of an exchange of views which has been heard throughout Europe as well as in many parts of Poland. The war of words has been joined by people for whom the ground-breaking social and cultural role of the Internet is of great importance. People are not protesting against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement because they are against the protection of trademarks or intellectual property rights. What motivates us is the imbalance which ACTA creates between the rights of creators and producers, on the one hand, and the rights of Internet users, on the other. Together with my colleagues from the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats), I am going to vote against ACTA, because we do not see cultural goods as nothing more than a product, which, like any other product, can only be bought by those who can afford to do so. We are against ACTA because we see that the Internet plays an extremely important role, not just as a provider of information, but also as a gateway to cultural property for all of us, building identity and a feeling of community. The immediate rejection of ACTA is, for us, the first step towards changing the way intellectual property is protected on the Internet. Our objective is to extend what is called permitted use, so that people do not have to fear any consequences if they have shared files privately with friends but do not share files commercially. We urge you to help change this law."@en1
