"The report lays out the entire imperialist EU strategy east of the border with the Eastern partnership, through the trade links developed by the EU within that framework. The flagship proposal in the report is the establishment and development between the EU and every other country of a so-called ‘Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area’ (DCFTA) and ‘investment protection’, which really means the penetration of the euro-unifying monopolies throughout the Eastern partnership. It puts pressure on all the Eastern partners to join the WTO. It calls on the EU to step up efforts to enter into free trade agreements (FTAs), in a bid to neutralise Russian influence on these countries, thereby expressing the stiff competition between euro-unifying and Russian monopolies trying to gain a foothold on the emerging markets in the area. It openly proclaims that the EU must use these FTAs to intervene in these countries, including politically, on the pretext of democracy and human rights. It is especially insulting of Belarus, which it calls upon to join the WTO. It supports restrictive measures by the EU against that country and calls on the EU to step up aid to various NGOs and ‘civil society’, in the aim of imposing the political regime of its choice, so as to ‘eliminate obstacles to business’."@en1
