"This report focuses on what it considers to be the need to develop the internal market, in order to develop ‘a friendly and motivational environment for businesses and consumers’ which is able to attract both national and international investment. In order for this investment to take place, the rapporteur argues that ‘the EU needs a coherent political, economic and regulatory framework’. The elements that make up this framework include promoting the establishment of new trade agreements with third countries; structural reforms in the Member States in order to ensure greater coordination between the policies of the EU; the modernisation of labour markets, through flexicurity; education and professional training to meet the needs of the single market; economic governance; and the Euro Plus Pact. In other words, it is an example of the savage neoliberal agenda that has driven the process of dismantling society’s progress that is under way in the EU, and the unprecedented aggression being inflicted on workers and the public. Naturally, we voted against."@en1
