"I voted in favour of the report on the attractiveness of investing in Europe, which calls on the Commission to present a strategy on how to make investment, in particular, foreign direct investment, in Europe more attractive. I welcome the concern expressed about high youth unemployment figures and the measures proposed throughout the report to address this. In particular, the support for a youth guarantee scheme, which would ensure that every young person in Europe is offered a job, further education or work-focused training at the latest four months after leaving education or after becoming unemployed, is an important initiative to tackle youth unemployment. The calls for an increase in funding for mobility and development of knowledge, through the ‘Erasmus for All’ programme, are also welcomed as a tool towards both future investment and a reduction of youth unemployment."@en1
