lpv:translated text	"I voted firmly for this report. European car manufacturers claim they are ready to take on the challenge of incorporating this type of equipment in the vehicles they produce. This will have the result of saving human lives. However, I should not like the European Parliament to go too far, perhaps by proposing to extend eCall to other types of vehicle too rapidly. In current circumstances, that would amount to excessive costs for manufacturers and would probably not have the effect of improving road safety. As regards ordinary cars, I remain in favour, and I hope that these devices will soon be launched on the market."@en1
