"I voted in favour of this document because I believe the proposal to equip all new vehicles with the eCall device by 2015 to be important. It will enable the rescue services to be alerted automatically in the event of a road accident by means of the public 112 emergency call service. In this way, it would be possible for the emergency services to arrive more rapidly; something that could save around 2 500 lives per year and also significantly reduce the severity of injuries sustained."@en1
