lpv:spoken text	"A sustainable supply of water is vital for life, the effective management of which is essential to ensuring that all ecosystems receive a sufficient quantity of good quality water in order to function properly and provide essential services. I support the concept of water as a ‘public good’ and that there is a cost associated with water that needs to be charged. I am, as yet, uncertain about the inclusion of the WFD into the scope of cross compliance for farmers. I voted in favour of this report, which predates the Commission’s ‘Blueprint to safeguard Europe’s water resources’, the EU policy response to current and future water challenges, due to be published in November 2012."@en1
