lpv:translated text	"I believe that we all agree that water is a shared resource and a public good. Therefore, access to water is a fundamental right which everyone should have. Water must not be a source of profit. For these reasons, I welcome the new measures to reduce water consumption in the EU. I would simply like to ask everyone to bear in mind that implementing and enforcing the Water Framework Directive represents a problem in some Member States. Therefore, we should first of all press for these regulations to be consistently implemented before we begin thinking about new ones. In addition, the new regulations must be practical, as the rapporteur has already said. This means that they must be adapted to the situation in the Member States and meet the needs of the various different sectors, such as agriculture."@en1
