The hurried and incorrect implementation of the regulation’s provisions may have very significant negative consequences for this sector. Consequently, I believe that it should only be compulsory to install smart tachographs in vehicles registered for the first time since the entry into force of this regulation. The new tachograph system should not only monitor drivers but help them improve their working conditions by providing required and comprehensive information. Furthermore, it is very important for the information provided by the tachograph to only be transferred to the company and not to third, unrelated parties."@en1
