"Mr President, the first half of 2012 has been characterised by the failure of the European Union, the failure of the euro and the loss of public confidence in the failed European dream. However, I also have some bad news for you. A number of southern Member States are on the verge of collapse. The coffers of unsuspecting taxpayers in northern Member States are being raided under the mantle of solidarity. Many citizens of the EU watched the recent developments surrounding the ESM with disquiet.
Mr President, if the trend of the past year continues, the question will simply be whether we will still be standing here in six months’ time. More and more voices are being raised in the Member States of the EU in favour of the abolition of the EU and the euro. They are very much welcome, as far as I am concerned. The EU is past its expiry date because you cannot play on a broken violin."@en1
