"Cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a concern for Members States and for ordinary citizens. The EU tries to achieve a better connectivity among the EU states and its citizens, so naturally it has to take the necessary measures to protect them as well. It is an inclusive issue balancing between the respect for human rights and the need to intervene. I voted in favour of this report because I consider particularly important the cooperation and information sharing among EU Member States regarding the fight against cyber crimes. Information technologies make people in Europe and all over the world closer. Challenges do not respect borders and we have to harmonise the international cybersecurity environment. I support the proposal to advance the legislation on cyber crimes. In order to ensure a due level of protection and security, the EU has to manage risks, not just respond to challenges."@en1
