"Whilst the matter of cybersecurity is ever pressing in today’s online environment and is an issue, due to the very nature of the worldwide web, which must be addressed via international cooperation, I would not trust a European Quango to exercise control in this area. Matters of free speech, the determination of what constitutes illegal activity and ways in which the Internet should be regulated are extremely sensitive and demand a careful handling that does not impinge upon the freedoms of the individual or sovereign law. While there is an urgent call for tighter regulation of the Internet, this is being used as a tool to promote ‘more Europe’ and thus more regulation, representing a significant power shift to Brussels."@en1
