"I voted in favour of this decision, which will enable the EU to provide financial aid to Italy, following the widespread damage caused by flooding which affected the Italian regions of Liguria and Tuscany in October 2011. These funds will, in particular, enable housing to be rebuilt. By reacting quickly following natural disasters, the European Union is thus demonstrating the solidarity of all of its citizens vis-à-vis the afflicted populations."@en1
