"I voted in favour of this report on bluefin tuna stocks in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. I support amending Regulation (EC) No 302/2009, which is a follow-up to the recommendation of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). I approve the recovery plan drawn up by this organisation. However, I would like to say that it is necessary to strike an appropriate balance between protective measures and continued activity. I share the rapporteur’s desire to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and to make the European Union a model of fisheries management."@en1
