It strengthens the idea of the European Union’s internal security strategy (ISS) that emerged from the Treaty of Lisbon, which obliges our system to change from a purely intergovernmental policy to an EU policy with a strong parliamentary aspect, from both the European Parliament and the national parliaments, in order to define jointly internal security priorities and strategies. Increasing the role of its democratic organs should be a matter of pride for the European Union, so fundamental rights should be central to the ISS."@en1
