We are agreed that Europe today, and not only Europe, is facing what is perhaps the greatest economic crisis in modern history, and it is surely our duty to the citizens of the European Union to do everything in our power to bring this economic crisis, which has already affected very many of our citizens and businesses, to an end. It is certain – in my opinion – that one way to do this is to strengthen the single market, because it is by the single market that we will restore economic growth to the European Union. I think the internal market scoreboard is a good tool for supporting the creation of a single market and measuring the contribution individual EU Member States make to it."@en1
