lpv:translated text	"Mr President, Ms Irigoyen Pérez’s report, which we have voted to support, concerns the need to consider developing a strategy to protect the rights of the most vulnerable consumers, in light of the strategy that the European Commission and the Member States will be required to devise to that end. Consumers may be vulnerable for various reasons, and potentially anyone may be affected. That is why this group of consumers, along with consumers in general, needs to be protected. A targeted strategy is required that considers the problem in the round while, on the one hand, avoiding creating new forms of discrimination and, on the other, eschewing static, rigid definitions that are unable to embrace all the facets of the matter and the various possible kinds of vulnerability. Specific, targeted protective measures are therefore needed."@en1
