"Mr President, I believe we all have an interest in having the best possible relations with Canada, which we consider to be a mature, civilised and democratic country. I also firmly believe that we all respect the rights of the Canadian administration to determine their own conditions for the entry of persons from other countries arriving on its territory.
On the other hand, it should be noted that the agreement on economic and trade cooperation, the aim of which is to regulate cooperation between Canada and the European Union, will also apply to the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria, and any of these countries will be able to oppose the conclusion of an agreement if they feel discriminated against as a result of Canada’s approach to their citizens. I would therefore like to believe that the forthcoming reform of the Canadian asylum laws will remove the concerns of Canadians regarding the abuse of their social system by citizens of certain European countries and will pave the way for visa-free travel for all EU citizens to Canada."@en1
