"I voted for the proposal to amend the regulation on protection against dumped imports from countries not members of the European Community. Certain provisions did indeed run counter to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Anti-Dumping Agreement as well as Article 16.4 of the WTO Agreement itself. My vote shows my commitment to compliance with WTO standards. However, while the European Union believes that there is unfair competition from certain foreign companies, we are not prepared to accept everything, for our companies depend on this, and therefore suppliers who import from countries which do not respect market economy rules will suffer financial sanctions."@en1
