Repsol has always promoted an extractivist model, disregarding all other considerations. Therefore, Argentina has every right to take a sovereign decision on the management of its resources and energy policy, even though this is not a guarantee of exemplarity in the matter. The European Union and Spain should instead commit to heavily investing their economic, political and diplomatic resources in order to promote a new energy and development model based on renewable energy and reducing the dependency on fossil fuels."@en1
