"In 2010, the Commission adopted the Europe 2020 strategy aiming to create smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, and to improve economic governance. One of the flagship initiatives of the EU’s growth strategy is the ‘Digital Agenda for Europe’, a strategy for taking advantage of the potential offered by the rapid progress of digital technologies. eGovernment is about using the tools and systems made possible by information and communication technologies (ICTs) to provide citizens and businesses with better public services. In most of the Member States, eGovernment development is considered to be based on office automation and the interconnectivity network between public administrations, on the one hand, and on developing the right digital content and applications, on the other. Applying ICTs to public administration is very important to providing the public with a better service. That is why I voted in favour."@en1
