Nuclear energy belongs in the past, and we must gently leave the past behind. The illusion of nuclear fusion is something some people want to believe in, in a quasi-ideological – or indeed religious – way, although we have no proof that, by 2050, or indeed 2080, it will provide any kind of answer to our energy problems.
