"Madam President, I just wanted to intervene here so that it does not become a purely British debate. Mr Batten, I am getting more and more concerned; I have to be honest about that. From your previous speeches I am aware that you did not want the United Kingdom to be in the European Union. I have now heard that you do not want the United Kingdom to be party to the European Convention on Human Rights. Perhaps if you took a little time to think about it, you would not want the United Kingdom to be a member of the United Nations in future, either. Do you not think that, if you had your way, the United Kingdom would gradually become very isolated and that this would do the United Kingdom as a whole a great deal of damage? I certainly think that that is what would happen."@en1
