"I welcome the fact that Parliament has approved the conclusion of this new international Agreement between the United States and the European Union on the transfer of ‘passenger data’ by European airlines (which operate flights travelling within or to the US) to the US authorities. The agreement is a fundamental tool in stepping up the fight against terrorism. Furthermore, it ensures that data is not transferred in a totally unregulated manner. In this respect, it was my duty to vote for its conclusion."@en1
