The subject of this report is the updating of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 and Regulation (EC) No 987/2009, which are being implemented at regular intervals, in order to ensure a sensible coordination of national social security systems at EU level. The main basis for this constant updating is also the acceptance of EU citizenship by our citizens. One sign of this is increasing mobility. The citizens of the European Union perceive the Union to be their place of work and residence, and it is no longer unusual for people to switch between Member States for their work and residence. I view resolving these problems as a positive challenge and that is exactly what this report seeks to do. I also set store by the fact that this will not be the last time this report is updated."@en1
