lpv:translated text	"Madam President, the coordination of Member State social security systems greatly facilitates the free movement of citizens within the EU. Since the 1970s, it has been the means that made it a practical possibility for citizens to take employment or become established in other Member States. The principle of the aggregation of periods, for example, actually represents the recognition of the existence of a united Europe and the internal market. National laws, however, are subject to continuous change. Therefore, the continuous alignment of regulations to the needs and demands of citizens is unavoidable. We, as MEPs elected directly by the citizens, must pay great attention to the amendments proposed by the Commission, and must not hesitate to make appropriate supplementations whenever necessary. This is what happened just now, and I therefore welcome the report of Mr Cabrnoch, which correctly points out some problematic points of the Commission’s proposal."@en1
