lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I wish to comment on the report on Parliament’s recommendations for negotiations between the EU and the Republic of Azerbaijan with a view to signing an association agreement. I emphasise the importance of cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan for the diversification of the EU’s energy supply sources and routes. I welcome the Joint Declaration on gas supply signed on 13 January 2011 in Baku by the President of the European Commission and the President of Azerbaijan, which was an important step in the realisation of the Southern Gas Corridor. We call on Azerbaijan to continue its efforts to support projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines. We call on the EU to provide technical support to Azerbaijan for the use of renewable energy sources and in order to promote energy efficiency. Finally, I commend Azerbaijan’s progress in the field of information and communication technologies, particularly regarding eGovernment, which will increase transparency and help tackle corruption."@en1
