The events in North Africa over the past months have shifted the vector of our interest towards the south. For this reason, we should be even more grateful for the report prepared by Mr Poręba. In the Caucasian Gordian knot, Armenia is a key area, a focal point for all the problems in the region. Poverty, infrastructure and energy problems, a powerful Russian influence, unresolved conflicts with neighbours – these are just the start. For this reason, it is even more important to strengthen our involvement in the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea Synergy. More funds, greater support and regional exchanges; this is just the beginning, and the culmination must be assistance in resolving the Karabakh conflict. The end of this conflict would provide a centre of stability for the entire region and would finally put a limit on Russian influence. More than 17 years since the war ended, land designated as forming part of Armenian ethnic territory must form part of Armenia."@en1
