However, Turkey needs to implement the Ankara Protocol, to recognise the Republic of Cyprus and to stop human rights abuses in Cyprus. If it does all that, which it is obliged to do as a candidate country for accession to the European Union, Cyprus will not have any problem doing what it has to do in connection with Turkey’s progress towards accession.
