I fully agree with the statements made in the report, and I congratulate Ms Ivanova on her excellent work. I specifically agree with her on the importance of defining performance indicators in terms of quality, in order to ensure a more accurate distribution of funding. I underline and approve the EIB’s commitment to environmental sustainability and funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and I encourage the Commission and the EIB to continue along the path to cooperation in the field of innovative financial instruments. Finally, I reiterate the need to take specific action in order to maintain the EIB’s AAA rating, a necessary condition for its correct functioning. As the recent CreditWatch negative has, in fact, shown, the bank risks being downgraded in the future, and this could compromise its funding opportunities."@en1
