"The economic and financial crisis is not over. Beyond belt-tightening and austerity plans, we must propose plans to get us out of the crisis that offer prospects to our fellow citizens. The European Investment Bank (EIB) is one of the tools we have to support growth and employment. It must continue to play a key role in revitalising the European economy, particularly by helping SMEs, which are the real engine of the European economy and the main creators of employment and growth. The EIB must also innovate; over the coming months, it must build on what it has started to do in terms of project bonds in order to finance major infrastructure projects. There is no time to waste."@en1
